Crafting Crime is your crime-writing course created and constructed by CWA Diamond Dagger winner Martin Edwards, in association with Dea Parkin of Fiction Feedback.
The Mentored Crafting Crime course comes with 12 Assessed Assignments.
Not just learning about crime writing, but putting what you learn into practice – and getting feedback from top editorial consultancy Fiction Feedback as you go.
The ideal course to take as you write your crime novel.
Click on the Curriculum tab to view the 12 modules. Each module comprises a pdf of written material and an audio Q&A with Martin and Dea recorded at historic Gladstone’s Library, home to Britain’s crime-writing archives.
Each page has a download section so you can download and view the documents in your usual PDF viewer. Simply click the play button to start the audio.
You also have access to the additional resources available as part of the course material.
Once you’ve absorbed each module, it’s time to complete that module’s assignment. Access these, too, from the Curriculum tab.
You’ll need to complete and submit the assignment for each module before moving on to the next.
We have designed the assignments to offer a good experience for you, even if you’re not very far on with your novel, or haven’t started at all. Some of the assignments are quite complex; if you have any difficulty understanding what we’re asking for, please contact us at cc@fictionfeedback.co.uk.
We will aim to return your feedback within 2-3 weeks. We advise you to wait for this before completing the next assignment, but you don’t have to. And it’s up to you at what speed you complete the course, although we prefer you to complete it within a year of purchase.
We hope you find the course rewarding and a big help in your quest to be a published crime writer.
Any questions, please contact us at cc@fictionfeedback.co.uk
“We have distilled our knowledge and experience into the course content and look forward to encouraging and helping you along the way. We hope you derive practical benefit from this mentored crime-writing course and that, one day, we see your novel on the bookshelves.”
